I'm about due to clean this place up again...correct some more typos, expunge old content, erect new stuff...a virtual spring cleaning...pun intended.

The NCAA tournament has come and gone again, and I fared about as well as I have usually fared, very good, but no money. In a work pool I was in the lead after the first two rounds, but a few of my teams fell later on...but I saved my pride in having picked the eventual winner. :) This year: 41 correct out of 63 games. While I don't secondguess too many things, there were some mistakes: I should have stuck with the popular vote and picked Illinois deeper; but sometimes to distinguish your bracket, you have to pick some games against the grain. I also missed the hardest game in their respective region: Georgia Tech vs Louisville; I knew the winner of that game had a Final Four run. The rest of the bracket was either expendable or there was no way I would have picked it out that way.

And last year's bracket is up too...about an opposite showing where I got all the final four teams *except* the winner. As usual, I'm pretty good in the first few rounds and the unsurprising upsets. Last year had 41 games out of 63 as well.

To sort of put all of this in perspective, ESPN (and other sports web sites) host a free tournament where people can enter up to 5 different bracket picks; way more than a million entries were submitted. No single person got all the games right. In fact, the best bracket still missed 8 games.
